Welcome! Thanks for visiting the Institute of Internal Auditors Tidewater Chapter website. Our chapter cover theHampton Roads area of Virginia (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News). It is our intent that this site help with our mission to provide members with opportunities to grow professionally and to better serve their employer through training, networking, CIA certification and leadership development. CIA Review Course - If you are looking for help in passing the CIA Exam, there will be a CIA Review course offered in Richmond on May 16-18, 2012. The three day course, based on the IIA's CIA Learning System, will be taught by Raven Catlin, and will cover all 4 parts. You should sign up by May 4 in order to ensure you will receive all of the associated materials. Click here for more information and registration.

Changes Are Coming to the CIA Exam - Some major changes are coming to the CIA EXam scheduled for 2013. Among the changes will be the reduction from four to three parts. New IPPF Guidance Released - The IIA just released a new practice advisory and practice guide - IPPF Practice Advisory 2320-2 Root Cause Analysis and IPPF Practice Guidance: Reliance by Internal Audit on Other Assurance Providers.
The IIA is Offering A New Certification - The IIA is introducing the CRMA certification - Certified Risk Management Assurance. For a limited time you may be eligible to earn the CRMA certification based on your education, experience and other certifications prior to the implementation of the exam. Changes to CPE Reporting Requirements for IIA Certifications! - As of January 1, 2012 all IIA certification holders will be required to report their continuing professional education credits on an annual basis. Reporting should be done by December 31 each year for CPEs earned during the calendar year. Click here for details as to the new reporting requirements.
