Welcome!
Thanks for visiting the Institute of Internal
Auditors Tidewater Chapter website. Our chapter covers the Hampton
Roads area
of Virginia (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News). It is our intent
that this
site help with our mission to provide members with opportunities to
grow
professionally and to better serve their employer through training,
networking,
CIA certification and leadership development.
If you are not a member and would like to join the Tidewater Chapter,
you may
contact any officer or Board of Governor member. All the materials you
need may
also be found under the "Membership Resources"

Chapter Events are at an end for the 2008-2009 Year. New Events will start in September for 2009-2010!

2009 Mid-Atlantict District 1 Conference - The 2009 District Conference is scheduled for October 22-23, 2009. This year's conference will be held in Richmond at the Sheraton Park South Hotel. A total of 16 CPE will be provided in leading edge audit topics. In addition, Dr. Glenn Sumners will be back to conduct the CIA Review course from October 19-23. By popular demand, the review is being expanded this year, with two full days devoted to Part III, with the full review covering 4 1/2 days. Mark your calendars now. More details will follow. |

The Tidewater Chapter is Platinum Once Again - With the success of the district conference and other events, the Tidewater Chapter has obtained Platinum status, the IIA's highest honor in the Chapter Achievement program. Platinum is awarded to those chapters that have obtained enough points in the CAP program to reach Gold status for at least ten consecutive years. This year, Tidewater was the second chapter in North America to qualify as Gold, behind only the Vancouver Island Chapter in Canada. Thanks to our members for reaching this milestone.  New Internal Auditing Standards
Released - The
new International
Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) has been released.
These standards for the internal audit
profession become effective for all IIA members in January
2009. For more details on the standards, click

Is More Convenient Than Ever-
With combuter-based testing, taking the exam for an IIA certification,
such as the CIA, is convenient and can be done on your schedule.
Locally, the testing center is located in Newport News.

The Internal Auditing Academic Advancement Fund (IAAAF) - Learn more about how you can help promote and advance internal auditing education in our colleges and universities through the IIA's Internal Auditing Educational Partnership (IAEP).
